Friday Harbour Resort will spark the start of the holiday season with its Tree Lighting Ceremony on Nov. 23 at 5 p.m.
This year’s event will feature a dazzling 40-foot tree, festive decor, live entertainment, a fireworks display, and a European-inspired outdoor Holiday Market, opening on Nov. 22 and running select dates until Dec. 29. Friday Harbour is pleased to welcome platinum sponsor Fidelity Investments and gold sponsor Alta Infiniti to this year’s Holiday Market.
Guests at the Tree Lighting Ceremony will enjoy a musical performance by Countermeasure, an internationally acclaimed a cappella group. Showcasing some of Canada’s top vocalists, Countermeasure performs innovative arrangements of popular favourites and original songs.
The event will be hosted by Gurdeep Ahluwalia, an award-winning Canadian media journalist and current host of The Pooja and Gurdeep Show on 98.1 CHFI. Known for his quick wit and charismatic personality, Gurdeep will help create an unforgettable evening for all.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to explore the Holiday Market, which features local food and gift vendors in chalet-style cabins, cozy warming lounges, carollers, and appearances from Santa and his elves. Guests can also enjoy exclusive promotional offers from select retailers and restaurants along the Promenade.
For a more intimate holiday dining experience, visit the Lake Club Restaurant and enjoy festive menu specials and seasonal cocktails.
Throughout the festive season, Friday Harbour will be collecting unwrapped toy donations for Innisfil’s Community 4 Kids, a local charity supporting families in need. Donations can be dropped off in the Piazza on the Promenade.
