Innisfil ideaLAB and Library to brighten town's main street this fall

The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library is pleased to announce that the Innisfil AI project was selected for the My Main Street Community Activator and has received support to engage local artists and the community in a collaborative exploration of artificial intelligence through art.

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly reshaping technological and creative landscapes, but why let AI have all the fun? Innisfil AI plays off the popularity and controversy of generative AI, replacing computers with real artists.

Ten artists, chosen by a panel of jurors, will receive a list of prompts submitted by community members. Each artist will select their favourite prompt to bring to life.

The completed works will be digitized and displayed in businesses along Innisfil Beach Road in December. Through this initiative, we aim to create a vibrant atmosphere that supports local businesses and encourages residents and visitors alike to explore Innisfil’s artistic offerings.

We are excited to announce the 10 artists who will be transforming the prompts into works of art in their unique styles:

These artists were chosen from over 30 applicants located across Simcoe County.

Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, 1:30 p.m. AI Explained: Navigating the Future with Confidence with tech expert and CTV Your Morning regular, Avery Swartz.
Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024, 6 p.m. Innisfil AI Launch Event, preview the completed artworks before they are installed in local businesses.
