Over 500 customers affected by power outage in Alcona

Power should be restored around 4:45 p.m.

A tree and its contact with power lines are to blame for an unplanned power outage in Alcona this afternoon, affecting approximately 540 customers in the area.

High winds on Monday caused trees to come into contact with the power lines on 25 Sideroad, just south of Line 9 and Goodfellow Public School.

Crews are currently on scene working to get the power back up and running.

Innpower has suggested the power will be restored around 4:45 p.m.

UPDATE: Power was back on by 5:30 p.m., after an outage that lasted approximately 5 hours.
