Innisfil residents in need received warm winter clothing through Christmas 4 Kids (C4K), thanks to a generous grant from the Innisfil Club of Rotary and Rotary District 7010.

In October of 2020, Rotary District 7010 made funds available to support COVID-19 related projects. The Rotary Club of Innisfil applied and was approved for an $800 grant. In January, the funds went to C4K so the charity could purchase winter boots for clients in need in our community.

“It’s a helping thing. It’s what Rotary does for our community,” said Anne Smith, President of the Rotary Club of Innisfil.

In 2020, C4K spent close to $9,000 to purchase coats, winter boots and warm clothing. The funds from the Rotary Club of Innisfil made it possible to purchase several pairs of good quality, warm winter boots, including adult sizes for men and women. Adult sized boots can be very expensive and these were purchased because many of C4K’s older children and youth need these sizes. C4K strives to provide the members of the families they serve with warm coats and boots, if they are needed. It can have a huge impact on the families they support if they do not need to buy expensive winter boots and outerwear, instead freeing up critical funds to help cover other costs.

“The Rotary Club of Innisfil has been a huge support for C4K and we are very grateful for all of the help we have received from the club,” said Myrlene Boken, President of C4K.
