Barrie police have released these images of a man dressed all in black who tried to enter a Bayfield Street business on Sept. 19, 2024.

Barrie police are appealing to the public for more information about an "oddly dressed" man in black who tried to enter a Bayfield Street business last Thursday.

As temperatures were hovering around 30 C on Sept. 19 at 1:30 p.m., police say it was a rather hot day to be dressed for winter.

Police say the man is described as non-white, standing about six feet tall and heavy set. He was wearing all black, including a hooded vest, a hoodie, Adidas pants with white stripes, running shoes and a green sweater with white lettering across the chest.

City police believe that, dressed in this manner, he would have been obvious to anyone in either the front or rear shared parking lot.

Police did not release the name or type of business involved.

Although police admit the pictures are not the best, anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is asked to email the investigating officer at [email protected].
