A delivery van driver was airlifted to a Toronto hospital following a serious crash in Bradford earlier this week.
Around 9 a.m. Monday, officers with the South Simcoe Police Service along with Bradford firefighters and County of Simcoe paramedics responded to the collision, which happened at the intersection of County Road 27 and Line 9 and involved the delivery van and a transport truck.
Through an investigation, police believe that the delivery van was travelling eastbound and collided with the transport, which was travelling northbound.
The crash caused the delivery van to roll into the west side ditch.
The delivery van driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance. Around 12:15 p.m., the driver was airlifted to Toronto where their injuries were deemed serious, but not life-threatening or life-altering.
The transport driver was not injured.
The intersection was closed for much of the day Monday due to the investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information is asked to contact Const. Wazeer Rahman by phone at 905-775-331 or 705-436-2141, ext 2029, or by email.
The investigation is ongoing.
