Man faces numerous drug charges after Innisfil area grow op busted

38-year-old charged with cultivate, propagate or harvest more than four plants at one time; distribute illicit cannabis and more

South Simcoe Police Service officers have laid a dozen charges against an Innisfil man following an investigation into a cannabis grow operation.

On Friday, Oct. 2, 2020 around 5:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers executed a Cannabis Act search warrant at a home in the 25th Sideroad and Mapleview Drive area of Innisfil. As a result of the search, police located and seized multiple items including a replica firearm, numerous bags of cannabis, cannabis edibles, cocaine, evidence of production and trafficking, and a quantity of cash.

Thirty-eight-year-old Christopher Wice of Innisfil faces 12 charges, including cultivate, propagate or harvest more than four plants at one time in a dwelling home; distribute illicit cannabis; possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling; and possession of (suspected) cocaine.  

The accused was released with a future court date. The investigation is ongoing.
