Simcoe County paramedics wait at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Yonge Street in Barrie's south-east end after the driver was extricated by local fire crews.

Barrie police say no serious injuries were reported following a two-vehicle crash in the city's south end, Friday afternoon.

The crash, which left a black pickup truck on its side with its windshield nearly entirely smashed, took place at 2:40 p.m. on Jan. 10 near the intersection of Yonge Street and St. Paul’s Crescent, not far from Mapleview Drive East.

A dark-coloured Chevrolet SUV also sustained serious damage to its front end.

“Information on the crash is limited as the investigation remains ongoing,” said Peter Leon, the department’s communications coordinator. “It does not appear as if there has been any life-threatening injuries sustained and it appears to be more property damage than anything at this time.”

One person was extricated by Barrie Fire and Emergency Service.

The drivers of both vehicles were cleared medically at the scene by County of Simcoe paramedics.
