Police have arrested another three people as part of a human trafficking investigation that began in Innisfil.
In May, South Simcoe police received a report of a female being held in a home in Innisfil for the purpose of providing sexual services.
Project Chameleon was launched and, with the help of police in Barrie and York Region, search warrants were executed at two residences in November. Three people were arrested and three females were safely removed from one of the homes. A fourth suspect wanted on a warrant surrendered to police on Nov. 20.
South Simcoe police announced Thursday they had arrested three more people.
Hung Lam, 54, of Wasaga Beach, has been charged with trafficking in persons.
Joseph Carvalho, 44, of Newmarket, has been charged with trafficking in persons, advertising sexual services, and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Edgar Martinez, 36, of Innisfil, has been charged with trafficking in persons and procuring.
All three accused are being held in custody.
