Two Toronto men charged with impaired in Innisfil

South Simcoe Police Service officers made two impaired driving arrests on Saturday evening in Innisfil thanks to calls from concerned citizens. 

Two Toronto men were charged within an hour of each other. Investigation later revealed they had both attended the same party in Innisfil.

The first arrest occurred around 6 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, after police responded to a driving complaint. Police observed the vehicle driving erratically and conducted a traffic stop in the Innisfil Beach Road and 10 Sideroad area.  The driver was arrested and transported to North Division.  

38-year-old Arnaldo Darocha Raposo of Toronto was charged with Operation While Impaired and Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.  

The second arrest took place around 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, after a call regarding a vehicle driving erratically before it pulled into a parking lot on Innisfil Beach Road in Alcona.  Police arrived and located the driver slumped over in the driver's seat.  He was arrested and transported to North Division where breath tests resulted in readings over the legal limit.  

36-year-old Hugo Martins Da Costa of Toronto was charged with Operation While Impaired and Over 80. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
