A complaint Monday from a concerned citizen in Bradford West Gwillimbury has led to impaired driving charges being laid against an Oshawa man.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m., police received a call about a possible impaired driver in a blue Toyota on Milligan Street. Police located the vehicle after the driver made a U-turn in front of two cruisers at 10 Sideroad and County Road 88, South Simcoe police said in a news release.

Police conducted a traffic stop and found several empty beer cans and an empty wine bottle in the vehicle.

The 29-year-old driver was charged with impaired operation (alcohol and drugs) and impaired operation (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus). His licence will be suspended for 90 days and the vehicle will be impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 14.
