Thornton man charged with stunt driving in south-end Barrie

On Saturday, Feb. 8, just after 3:30 p.m., police says a 53-year-old Thornton man was driving his truck and was stopped for speeding, registering 101 kilometres per hour in a 60 km/hr zone in the northbound lane of Essa Road, in Barrie south of Salem Road. The driver was charged, his truck was impounded and his licence suspended.

Barrie police nabbed an Essa Township driver for excessive speed in the city's south end on the weekend.

On Saturday, Feb. 8, just after 3:30 p.m., police say the a 53-year-old Thornton man was driving his truck and was stopped for speeding, registering 101 kilometres per hour in a 60-km/h zone in the northbound lane of Essa Road, south of Salem Road.

The driver has been charged with stunt driving and speeding. 

His truck was impounded and his driver's licence suspended.
